UWEC CERCA 2026 has ended
Friday May 1, 2026 2:10pm - 3:10pm CDT
A group of US students traveled to the Republic of Georgia with the aim of writing a work of decolonial travel writing that corrects many of the imperial habits seen in English-language travel writing about Georgia. The students will present their multi-media topic, which combines decolonial methods, self-reflection, personal experience, interviews, and other research to provide a traveler's perspective on today's Georgia. Their focuses include the role of religion in society, social cohesion and narratives of national identity, the relationship between economic and political goals, and the role of the US in Georgia.
